1. Product and eligibility

The Lendeka short-term product is intended for adults resident in South Africa with a valid South African ID, verifiable income and a South African bank account in their own name. One active Lendeka loan at a time applies. Credit and affordability checks are required for each new agreement.

2. Amounts and repayment periods

2 monthsR500-R4 000R500-R4 000
3 monthsR500-R4 000R500-R6 000

These are application limits, not guaranteed offers. The creditor can approve a lower amount or decline an application following assessment.

3. Charges

Interest is 3% per full month on the outstanding principal. The once-off initiation fee is R60.00 and the service fee is R30.00 per full month. Fees include any applicable VAT; no tax is added to the displayed total. There is no compulsory credit life insurance. Partial-month charges and actual repayment dates are set out in your final quotation.

The initiation fee is not deducted from the payout or added to the interest-bearing principal in the published model. It is included in the first repayment. An applicable Together benefit reduces that fee and must be shown in the quotation.

4. Quotation and acceptance

Before accepting, read the creditor’s legal identity, amount received, repayment dates, interest basis, all fees, total repayment, payment method, default terms and privacy notice. Do not treat a calculator result or an application acknowledgement as an accepted agreement or a promise of payout.

5. Repayments and changes

Repay using the method, reference and dates agreed. A request for a change does not itself alter the contract. Contact the creditor if a payment may be missed, and obtain any accepted arrangement in writing.

6. Early settlement

Request a current settlement figure for the date you intend to pay. The figure must reflect the agreement and applicable law. After payment has been allocated, request written confirmation of closure.

7. Late payment and disputes

Late or missed payments may affect your credit record and leave an outstanding balance. Any additional charges must have a lawful basis. Ask for an explanation and a breakdown of amounts you dispute; use the complaints process if needed.

8. Statutory rights

Nothing on this website removes rights that apply under South African law. Read the actual agreement and seek independent advice about a dispute or a term you do not understand.
