Use the figures from the written offers

This tool compares quotations you already have. It does not fetch offers, check credit records or submit an application. Start with the cash actually paid to you, and count each charge only once. No names, ID numbers or documents are needed.

Where to find each figure
Cash received
The amount that will reach your bank account, after any deductions.
Scheduled repayments
Add every repayment in the schedule, including a final or balloon payment. Keep any fees or insurance already included in those payments in this total.
Other compulsory payments
Add only required payments not already in the schedule or deducted from the payout. Enter 0 if there are none. Never count the same fee twice.
Largest repayment
Copy the highest single scheduled repayment. Check any separate payment due on the same date when budgeting.
Repayment count
Count all scheduled repayments, including any final payment.
Dates
Copy the first and last repayment dates. For a single payment, both dates are the same.

Enter your two quotations

Amounts are in rand. Enter cents with a decimal point or comma. All fields are required, including 0 for no extra payments. Entries are not sent to a server or saved by this site.

How the comparison is calculated

  1. Total paid = all scheduled repayments + other compulsory payments not already counted.
  2. Total borrowing cost = total paid − cash received.
  3. If the cash received is equal, the difference between the two borrowing costs is shown. Different amounts are displayed separately without a like-for-like saving.

The tool uses whole cents. It does not convert a monthly rate into an annual rate or estimate future penalties. First and last dates and the number of payments are checked, but you must compare every intermediate payment too.

Check what the total cannot tell you

  • Can you meet every payment date after essentials and existing debts?
  • Is a compulsory charge missing from either quotation? Ask before using an incomplete total.
  • Do early-settlement, insurance and late-payment terms differ?
  • Are both quotations still valid, and does each identify the actual creditor?

Use the budget planner alongside the largest payment. To calculate a Lendeka loan from an amount and term, use the Lendeka repayment calculator.
